So far this year which is now June, I have been to several plant shows as a seller and only a few as a visitor.  We have managed to launch the Pine Rivers Garden and Plant Fair in April and that went thankfully very well.  So well that we are doing it again in 2019.

I was fortunate enough to be the guest speaker at Wondai Garden Expo a week prior to my event.  Wondai has their Expo twice a year to catch the Autumn and the Spring seasons.  A great event with loads and loads of plants for all tastes in gardens.  Wondai is a 3 hour drive from the north of Brisbane and about another 20 minutes north of Kingaroy.  It's very pretty out there and well worth the journey.

The Pine Rivers Garden and Plant Fair on the 28 and 29 April went really well and we were very lucky to have such great weather for the few days.  There were over 60 site holders and all ranges of plants to buy.  We had fantastic guest speakers in two locations, great food, entertainment and generally a pretty laid back and fun event for all concerned.

The Brisbane Garden Expo began this year in March at the Doobmen Racecourse.  Historically this event was at the racecourse in Ipswich and has moved its location.

We had a very large day at Noosa recently as it was a day in the park with around 900 or more members of garden clubs coming to buy plants and garden items.

In May there was the Brisbane Collectors Fair at Mt Coot-tha Auditorium over two days.  Always a busy event with many unusual plants on sale.

Coming up soon is the Maleny Gardening on the Edge on the 9 and 10th of June.  Open Gardens and Plant sales over the weekend.  I haven't missed going to the open gardens for years and years.  This will be my third year selling at the event which is held at the Maleny Show Grounds.  The garden club run it and it really is worth the trip.

We finished the Ipswich Green Expo last weekend and it went extremely well.  Ruth O'Dowd and Paul Plant make a really great event come together.  Some of the guest speakers this year were Don Burke, Costa, Clair Bickle and Noel Burdette.
I spoke for 30 mins on citrus trees and getting the best out of them to a really great bunch of people.  Great to see so many people wanting to learn about growing edibles.
This week I am back to trying to catch up to propagation and tidying up as well as my usual jobs.  We had a scorcher of a weekend while we were away and now we are having heavy rain intermittently.  It's all good fun living in Queensland.
Melbourne is next for us and I can't wait to see the plant show there.  Unfortunately the cold weather plants will taunt me with their beauty but I will have to just take photos.

So much is happening during March and throughout February 2017 its hard to know where to even begin.
The heat through December and January was intense and I know we have all suffered losses in our gardens no matter how much water or shade we have tried to apply.  The ground and air was just too hot for too long.
So far this year I have been a guest speaker quite often and as always its a complete joy to get to meet and talk with my gardening friends at clubs.  There is always a great sense of pride to share when we talk gardens.  A few problems to fix and some new plants to discover.
The Ipswich Garden Expo will be on the 11th and the 12th of March 2017 and Chantal and I will be there selling a variety of plants.  Some very nice healthy plants that you won't always see in a nursery.  So I have been busy propagating and trying not to let my babies die.  However, still many did in the harsh weather so even the best of us have trouble.
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is on at the end of March and I and Chantal will be going down for our first look.  Neither of us can wait and Chantal is worrying how many plants I want to bring home.
I am hoping to make a few video's on different subjects so I hope I get some feedback about what I need to speak about.
